Vivaldi Explosion

Experience Vivaldi's perennial Four Seasons as you've never heard it before!

The dynamic ensemble Camerata Alma Viva and arranger Eric Mouret embark on a new collaboration with internationally renowned jazz pianist Bruno Heinen. Working together closely for over a year, they will present their take on one of the most recognisable and oft-performed works in all classical music. Juxtaposing several contrasting performing styles, with influences from historically-informed performance practice (emphasising the baroque spirit of freedom and transparency) as well as the groove of jazz piano improvisation, the results promise to be spectacular.

The Four Seasons, as it is usually heard, is a programmatic work, with the music depicting nature through sound, and featuring thematic passages that are intertwined with improvisatory moments.
Camerata Alma Viva and Bruno Heinen asked themselves 'Were Vivaldi still around today, where and how would he take these improvisations?

Respect for the spirit, style and overall structure of the work is at the centre of the Camerata Alma Viva's exciting new project, where free improvisation will enlighten and enrich the meaning, depth and essence of this much-loved masterpiece.
